This Privacy Policy describes how Suzanne Schmidt for County Commissioner (the “Campaign,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit vote4suzanne.com (the “Site”), sign up to get involved, subscribe to our newsletter, join our text messaging program, or otherwise interact with us.

Contribution information. If you make a political contribution, your payment is processed by our third-party donation processors (such as WinRed and eFundraising Connections). These processors collect the information needed to complete your contribution, which may include your name, address, employer, occupation, email, phone number, and payment card or bank information. We do not receive or store your full payment card number. Information you provide to these processors is governed by their own privacy policies, and the contribution information we receive from them is subject to public reporting requirements (see Section 5).

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, links clicked, referring website, and the dates and times of your visits.

If you provide your mobile phone number and consent, you may receive recurring automated text messages from the Campaign, such as election reminders, opinion polls, legislative and member updates, voter education, volunteer requests, and other Campaign communications. These messages may be sent using an autodialer.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or text-messaging opt-in information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Service providers that help us operate the text messaging program may process your number solely to deliver messages on our behalf.

We are not in the business of selling your personal information for profit. We may share information in the following circumstances:

Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, email and text-message delivery, donation processing, data and analytics, and list management. These providers are authorized to use your information only as needed to provide services to us.

Campaign finance disclosure (public reporting). Political contributions are subject to public disclosure laws. Under Washington State law and the rules of the Washington Public Disclosure Commission (and, where applicable, other authorities), we are required to collect and publicly report information about contributors, which may include your name, address, employer, occupation, and contribution amount. This information becomes part of the public record and may be published in government databases and made available to the public.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information when we believe it is necessary to comply with the law, a subpoena, or other legal process; to enforce our Terms & Conditions; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Campaign, our supporters, or others.

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, understand how visitors use the Site, and improve performance. The Site is built on WordPress and may load resources such as web fonts and embedded content from third parties.

Most web browsers let you control cookies through their settings, including blocking or deleting them. If you disable cookies, some features of the Site may not function properly. Because there is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” signals, the Site does not currently respond to them.

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
